Visual artist
Cathrine Knudsen
Artist Cathrine Knudsen has recently received great response and an important position in the art market with her delicate oil paintings. The previous exhibitions in mustered more than 500 visitors on opening day and visitors queued for the exhibition which was sold out within a few days.
Most of the paintings are made up of several layers of paint, and have different structural surfaces. With the need for many layers of oil paint to dry means that her painting is a time consuming process, and each image may take between three to four upto six months to be completed. The technique also allows the images to have a story that can be read in depth, through the layers and across the surface. The paintings are complex in which the artist cuts out the forms and shapes to create layers and nuances, thereafter to retrieve the images through cutting and induced wear. Oil painting in several thick layers creates a powerful in-depth effect. Although Knudsen follows a red line of approach in her creative effort the motives are allowed to change during the creative process.
The paintings can be regarded as abstract approaches of nature's own processes. Nature's movements and structures are at play and challenge the spectator in Knudsen's canvases. Various organic forms manifest themselves as evidence where the eye cannot rest before again taking in the painting's very tactile surface. Delicate simplicity and tranquility of the images is crucial, especially in paintings where Knudsen has worked with cracks that give an almost poetic reference to nature's fragility. Many do sense an almost meditative quality in Knudsen's paintings. When standing in front of them you are likely to make new discoveries and interpretations and the images will call upon your immagination to create your own personal stories.

Petter discovered his passion for art about a decade ago. At a time when he was looking for a new hobby to delve into, he came across painting, and it soon became a serious passion. Despite having no formal art education, he has since been able to make a name for himself in the industry. Today, his work is featured in exhibitions around Trondheim, but the truth is he never planned on becoming a painter.

Painter
Ellen Eikenes
In Ellen's paintings, figurative elements meet abstract shapes and patterns that are woven together into a whole. The themes, expressions and motifs of the paintings point to events that we recognize ourselves in. And many of her works have an openness that implies countless interpretation possibilities. The viewer gets his own associations when meeting the paintings. This ambiguity in the works is something Ellen strives for and is aware of throughout the entire work process.
Ellen is inspired by experiences in life; of nature, of meetings with people, of music, of sea life and other artistic inspirations. Painting is her great passion. It starts with an idea and a sketch before the actual creation process on the canvas begins. Especially in the beginning, she works strongly intuitively with shapes, colors and lines. The shapes alternate between organic and tight. Further work takes place with conscious and intuitive choices. The aim is to develop the painting so that color and form blend together and lines create a whole in the composition. The goal is also to create an atmosphere based on a theme or an idea.

By combining unconventional materials, innovative technologies, and meticulous craftsmanship, I seek to blur the lines between art and design, provoking viewers to question the relationship between beauty, purpose, and human interaction. My aim is to create spaces and objects that engage both the senses and the intellect, inviting viewers to actively participate in the artistic dialogue."

Sculpting & textiles artist
Ane Vik Eines
Ane work's sculpturally with textiles, and expresses herself through installation and three-dimensional forms. In her work she explores what happens in the meeting between material opposites, such as with the soft textile and the hard stone. Hand knitting is her starting point in this exploration. She wants to stretch the understanding of this technique and her approach is both direct and fearless. The familiar in knitting becomes foreign in its new form and choice of conflicting materials such as nylon and birch, stone and glitter.
She puts marks in the stones and uses wood and roots that have acquired an unnatural shape in their natural growth or forces them into the desired shape. This is further combined with the soft knit.

Designer & textile artist
Maja Stabel
Designer & textile artist who works with quilting and "zero waste" design.
Focuses on textile art that can both hang on the wall and on the body.
For me, the focus on sustainability has changed a bit when I realized how much it has limited
me and that sustainability, for me, is fundamentally about listening inward and following intuition -
What am I really here to accomplish? What really turns me on? What makes me happy? It is to
create without limitations. To be able to break down all norms and rules about how things should be
be or what I should make. And let the idealist in me calm down where everything should be recycled etc
- what good is it if it doesn't give the expression and mood/experience I want to give
the observer? What is more important - to reuse textiles in a work of art or to create the expression I
dream about?
